| Theoretical effect of lightweight crank pulley and wheels: A theoretical study of potential straight line performance gains will be made before proceeding with these two modifications to determine if they are worth the expense. January 25, 2006: Driving around at UTEC stage 1+ power levels for a few months has made me realize that handling upgrades will have to be made. Light weight 17" wheels with stiffer, stickier tires will be the most important part of the handling upgrade. I'd like to budget a maximum of $300 per wheel but there are some attractive wheels just above that price. I will likely use Yokohama AVSES100 tires. They have an excellent price to performance ratio and I have had good luck with them in the past (except for the fact they get noisy as they wear). These are some of the wheels I'm currently considering from the tire rack: |
